Our ADHD Assessment Process

We’ve designed our ADHD assessment process to be both thorough and efficient—prioritizing your comfort while gathering the information needed to understand your unique cognitive profile.

Following your discovery call, if you choose to proceed and meet the criteria for assessment, we guide you through a streamlined three-step process:

Self-Discovery & Intake

Self-Discovery & Intake

Once you book, you will receive a secure link to complete your initial intake forms (approximately 30 minutes). This step allows you to share your history, symptoms, and current challenges at your own pace, helping us build a comprehensive understanding before your clinical sessions.

  • A Note for Young Adults: If you are between the ages of 18 and 25, we also ask that an observer (like a parent, partner, or teacher) completes a short questionnaire to help us understand your journey from another perspective.

Clinical Support Session

Clinical History & Pre-Assessment Session

You will meet virtually with one of our Registered Psychotherapists for a structured clinical session. During this appointment, we review your intake in detail and gather additional history to build a comprehensive clinical profile.

This information is then synthesized and prepared for the Nurse Practitioner, ensuring your final assessment is informed, efficient, and tailored to your unique presentation.

  • NP Booking: At the end of this session, you will book your formal 75-minute appointment with one of our Nurse Practitioners.

Comprehensive NP Assessment

Comprehensive ADHD Assessment & Diagnosis

Your final step is a 60-minute session with a specialized Nurse Practitioner. During this session, we review all gathered information, provide diagnostic clarity, and develop a personalized ADHD treatment plan, which may include therapy, coaching, and/or medication support.

  • Your Results: If no further information is required, the NP will provide your diagnosis and discuss a personalized treatment plan with you during this session.

Is it ADHD?

If you’ve been wondering whether you might have ADHD, you’re not alone. Many adults struggle with focus, organization, and follow-through without realizing there may be an underlying reason.

Below, we answer common questions about ADHD symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment to help you better understand your experience—and what next steps may look like.

If you find yourself consistently working harder than others just to keep up, struggling to complete everyday tasks, or feeling overwhelmed by things that seem “simple,” you’re not alone.

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) often presents as a gap between your potential and your day-to-day functioning. Common signs include difficulty with focus, organization, time management, emotional regulation, and follow-through.

A comprehensive ADHD assessment helps clarify whether these challenges are related to ADHD and provides a clear path forward with personalized support and treatment options.

ADHD presents differently in each person. There are three primary types of ADHD:

  • Predominantly Inattentive Type (difficulty focusing, forgetfulness, disorganization)
  • Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive Type (restlessness, impulsivity, difficulty sitting still)
  • Combined Type (a mix of inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive symptoms)

During your ADHD assessment, we evaluate your unique pattern of symptoms, history, and functioning to determine the most accurate diagnosis. Understanding your ADHD type helps guide more effective, personalized treatment.

ADHD treatment at SYNT is personalized, evidence-based, and designed to support both immediate relief and long-term growth.

Depending on your needs, your treatment plan may include:

  • Medication management with a Nurse Practitioner
  • Therapy to support emotional regulation, self-esteem, and coping strategies
  • ADHD coaching for structure, habits, and daily functioning

Our integrated care model ensures that your support team works together, so your treatment feels cohesive, practical, and aligned with your goals.

Yes—an accurate ADHD diagnosis can be life-changing.

Many individuals experience relief, clarity, and validation after understanding the root of their challenges. A diagnosis helps shift the narrative from “something is wrong with me” to “my brain works differently—and there are ways to support it.”

With the right diagnosis and treatment plan, you can improve focus, reduce overwhelm, strengthen relationships, and build systems that work with your brain—not against it.

Beyond the Label

Key Benefits for Wellbeing and Management

Clarity and Self-Understanding

Gain a deeper understanding of how your brain works. A diagnosis provides clarity on lifelong patterns, helping you make sense of your experiences and move forward with confidence.

Tailored Treatment

Move away from “trial and error” with a customized ADHD management plan that addresses your specific needs—whether that involves medication, therapy, coaching, or a combination of supports.

Undiagnosed ADHD is often misunderstood as laziness or lack of effort. A diagnosis reframes your history through a neuro-affirming lens, helping you rebuild self-compassion and reduce self-criticism.

 Access to Accommodations

A formal ADHD diagnosis can provide access to academic and workplace accommodations, helping create an environment where you can perform at your best.

 Specialized Support Network

Gain access to a dedicated team of Nurse Practitioners and therapists experienced in ADHD and neurodivergence, offering coordinated and informed care.

Improved Relationships

Understanding how ADHD impacts communication, emotional regulation, and attention can help you build stronger, more supportive, and more honest relationships.
